Custom Orders
We often have one off completed pieces ready to purchase, but also love to do custom pieces with the receiver in mind from start to finish. Knowing a little about the person as well will help to shape the piece and create the intention that is worked through the taonga from start to finish.
Rakau / Wood
We are inspired by the native ngahere (forests) and whenua (land) we come from.
Mahi ethically sources fallen and washed up rākau from the forest floors and river banks and beaches and turns them into inspired naturalistic furniture pieces and objects.
They are designed to radiate the tranquility of the ngahere (forests) within the space. The result is raw and rustic looking, as if nature itself had grown it.
All the following designs are available to purchase. There are at times ones available to purchase straight away, but mostly they are made to order.

Every piece is unique and varies depending on

Pounamu / Greenstone
Bespoke designs, inclusions and materials can be embodied into custom Taonga/ treasures. We have many different types of New Zealand pounamu, that we can make into ornamentals, such as Mere, or other tools and weaponry. Earrings, Neck pieces, baby teething pieces and rings.
Harakeke / Flax
Harakeke/ flax hats are breathable and lightweight to wear in Summertime. An honest age-old resource that lends itself to so many uses.
Each Pōtae / hat is made uncommon to its kin. Pōtae Harakeke can be made into visors, bucket hats, or wide brimmed formal.
